Polka Wars are a four piece alternative / indie rock act.
Since forming in late 2011, Polka Wars has become one of the most exciting unpredictable forces in the Indonesian independent music scene.
In 2013 they won a slot to open Yeah Yeah Yeahs concert in Jakarta.
In 2014 they had a chance also to record their 3 new songs at Rubber Track's flagship studio in Brooklyn, NY after winning Converse Rubbertracks competition.
In 2015 after chosen as one of the Rolling Stone Indonesia's Young Guns, Polka Wars finally release their debut album called Axis Mundi, which was certified gold in Indonesia and well received by critics.
Vice wrote 'Polka Wars are an Indonesian hipster's wet dream: four mid-twenties guys at the peak of their coolness—playing melodic rock with indie edginess and global-winking references that include postpunk, modern folk, afro-pop, to jagged electro.'
Later in 2017 Polka Wars released a four-tracks EP which consists of 3 songs they recorded back then in New York.
Their single, 'Rangkum' -also their first song in Bahasa-, listed as number one in Rolling Stone Indonesia's Best Songs list in 2017 while the Music Video received a nomination as Best Music Video in a national television.
